Episode 57: Dan Berlin – Blind Athlete and Founder of Team See Possibilities
Dan Berlin is the co-founder of Team See Possibilities, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people challenge their perceived limits and redefine possibility. Despite losing his eyesight to the disease con rod dystrophy, Dan strives to prove that the only limits people truly have are the ones they place on themselves.
To showcase this, Team See Possibilities takes on endurance challenges around the world never done before by a blind athlete. They’ve raced nonstop across the Grand Canyon and back, up the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in 13 hours, hikes to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the dark in 2 1/2 days, and completed a 3-day endurance challenge through over 100 kilometers of remote sections of The Great Wall of China. Their goal is to help Dan make history on 7 continents in 7 years and inspire the local children who are blind by delivering a simple message: challenge your perceived limits.
On this episode, Dan shares the journey of losing his eyesight and the impact it’s had on his life.
